What does care look like after birth?

After going through a year long process of bringing your child into the world, it can be hard to also focus on yourself. You have done the incredible work to bring a life into this world, and now your body needs to rest and heal. We can help with that! Post-partum care is incredibly important to your long term physical and mental health.

Our detailed post partum exam begins with a detailed history of your birth experience from start to finish. The process at which birth occurs, is interrupted, or ends can significantly change what type of post partum care is needed. At Dr. Super’s House of Health, our chiropractors are trained in alleviating pain associated with labor and delivery, epidurals, sprains and strains of the pelvis, hip injuries, pubic symphysis dysfunction, and pain associated with breast feeding and caring for a new born. It is important that we screen our patients for postpartum depression and postpartum PTSD. Pregnancy pillows are still used for tender breast tissue or abdominal pain from birth or C-section. Gentle tissue work is applied when necessary and we encourage our patients to utilize medical massage or reiki to help their body heal from labor and delivery.
